It seems like an age ago now that I first approached Ross at Five Leaves Bookshop in Nottingham when he first agreed to stock my book. His thoughtful advice has helped spur me on with my quest to share my stories.
On the back of his advice, I was offered the chance to deliver a talk as part of the second Nottingham Radical Book Fair. Though a bit nervous about doing it (as I have never done anything like this before), I jumped at the chance.
Having chatted to Ross, I agreed to share my slot with illustrator and Nottingham Trent University lecturer, Erica Meza. Doing my research, I am in awe of her talent. As a former Trent student myself I am keen to touch base with her and find out more about what she does too. Again though this has racked my nerves up!
So what will I talk about? I will start by sharing how my experiences as a teacher have influenced my decision to write and publish “The Best Mummy Snails in the Whole Wide World.” I will go on to share some of the other picture book titles that I have used before reading my own book and sharing the images on the big screen and explaining how I might use it with children. I will also have a few surprises to share too.
So come along and support on Saturday 17th November from 10.30am until 5pm at Nottingham Mechanics Institute, 3 North Sherwood St, Nottingham NG1 4EZ. I will be speaking with Erica from 11am until 12 noon.
